We have all heard of gory crimes, but Daniel LaPlante’s stands out because of the elaborate and deeply disturbing schemes behind them. Daniel wanted to trap his victims, make them suffer, and he was pretty good at it. His life follows a trail of petty and not-so-petty crimes, connected by his obsession with controlling and traumatizing the victims.

A Childhood Of Abuse

Daniel LaPlante’s life wasn’t an easy one; it was full of sexual abuse by adults. It’s no wonder he became so mentally disturbed. However, a history of abuse is by no means a justification for abusing others.

Born in 1970 in Townsend, Massachusetts, Daniel’s first abuser was none other than his father. He physically, emotionally, and sexually abused young Daniel, traumatizing him for life. As a result, Daniel found it hard to focus on school or his interactions with others; since children can be quite innocently cruel, his classmates at Middlesex High School further ostracized him, labeling him as “creepy” and “weird”.
