Jessica Re’Nee Johnson’s death was the talk of the town for many reasons. One was the way police decided to shut down the case, pegging it as a suicide rather than a possible murder as the circumstances seem to dictate in this instance.
Speculative Suicide
Another reason Jessica’s case caught the attention of so many people was not just the gruesomeness of the situation but also how the body was found. Jessica was found with shoelaces tied around her neck to connect her to a mailbox just a few feet tall. Police claimed that Jessica hung herself, which did not make much sense to other experts as the whole logistical situation made it impossible for it to be a suicide.
Her mother was also adamant that this was not suicide.
