Friendships define one of the most prominent experiences in life. However, not everyone finds like-minded people they can call their friends. Some are left alone, hoping and yearning to be loved. Suzanne Capper was a quiet girl who grew up in Manchester, England.
Having no friends since childhood, she was desperate for a human connection. Unfortunately, the 16-year-old Suzanne fell in with the wrong crowd, which led her down a deadly path ending with her painful death.
Abandoned As A Child
After being born in 1976, Suzanne grew up in a less-than-ideal household. Her father deserted her before her birth, and her mother, Elizabeth, never showed her the love and care she needed. While Susanne was a child, Elizabeth married a man named John and had another daughter, Michelle. But, their marriage ended in divorce in 1990, after which Suzanne was left to be raised by John.
He described Suzanne as a “high-spirited, well-mannered girl”. Even though John provided everything for her, Suzanne couldn’t help but feel an empty void inside. She craved someone to show attention and affection towards her.
It led Suzanne to act out and skip school. She began spending nights at other people’s houses in Morton, Manchester. One such house she frequently visited was situated at 97 Langworthy Road. Little did she know she was entering the ‘House of Evil’.
Makes Her First ‘Friends’

The infamous home at 97 Langworthy Road belonged to 26-year-old Jean Powell. Susanne had known Jean since she was ten years old when she babysat her children. Even though Jean had now divorced her ex-husband, Glyn Powell, it was an amicable divorce.
Jean’s home was a magnet for selling drugs, parties, and sex. While Susanne lived there, she introduced Susanne to a group of her friends…
